A Canadian Thanksgiving in the US

It felt kinda weird missing Canadian Thanksgiving with our families, but you better believe that we celebrated the holiday! I would never pass up an opportunity for turkey, stuffing, and pumpkin pie! (Here it was also Columbus Day). The Canadian Clubs at Harvard and MIT paired up for a massive feast. It was delicious! Two Thanksgivings a year….I can live with that!

Other than that, our weekend was pretty low key. We braved the crowds to do a little outlet mall shopping and I had a much needed hair appointment. I finally found an Aveda salon in the Boston area that is affordable. Yay!

I thought this would be a great opportunity to show you some pictures that Pat has been taking recently. A couple weeks ago he had to use an old school Nikon film camera for his photography course. He developed these himself!!! And then scanned them onto the computer using some fancy equipment. I love the look that film produces.

Here are some of my favourites:

He also borrowed a wide angle lens for his digital SLR and took some pictures around MIT.

On Monday I walked along the Charles River, which separates Boston and Cambridge. I was walking on the Cambridge side near MIT, so the pictures show Boston in the background. I needed to take some shots for my photography class and figured this would be a great spot.  There are always a bunch of sail boats on the river, but Monday was especially busy because of the holiday.  The sun was out and it was a beautiful afternoon. Pure perfection :)

Tomorrow Pat and I are on our way back to the homeland!!! My CGA grad is this weekend in Banff. We can't wait to be back in Canada again, even though it will only be a quick visit. We'll see some of you soon :)
